DCAres: DC Alliance sponsors A$50,000 hole-in-one prize at the putt4dough ICT Charity Golf Day

DC Alliance, an owner-operator of Tier Certified data centres, was a “Hole-in-One” Prize sponsor at this year’s putt4dough ICT Charity Golf Day to raise money for the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (PCHF). This is a widely recognised and much-loved charity golf day in Western Australia and it has been running since 2010. Since the beginning, putt4dough has raised and contributed close to half a million dollars to the PCHF.

Everyone who took part in the “Hole-in-One” competition had a great time; with alcohol on tap (cart), we dare say some had way more fun than others! The A$50,000 prize money was however not collected because no one managed to produce that stunning Hole-in-One masterstroke at the Joondalup Resort Country Club. Only four balls landed near the hole and one lucky punter collected the “nearest to the pin” prize. Most importantly, everyone was in high spirits and contributed generously towards the PCHF.

PCHF is the largest funder of Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) and the wider Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) after Government.  The Foundation’s efforts enable PCH and CAHS to ensure Western Australia’s sick children and young people in need have access to world-class care. putt4dough’s investment will contribute significantly to professional expertise and practice in the areas of diagnostic and interventional radiology.

It was an important day for DC Alliance because “Care” is in our company’s DNA. We care for our customers and the community we operate our business in. Following on from this heartwarming and positive putt4dough experience, Roy Wong, the Executive Chairman of DC Alliance, concluded: “We want DC Alliance to be a data centre operator that has a heart and soul, not a mere company. Being one of the very few data centre businesses out there to be operated by the same people who own it, we believe the human element will set us apart in being a company that cares for its customers and the WA community.”

With this in mind, the Chairman and the management committee at DC Alliance has launched the “DCAres” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with an aim to put its philanthropic vision into practice. DCAres will be allocated funds as well as staff time to give back to the community in a positive and meaningful way. Putt4dough is a great example and is the first of many DCAares initiatives to come.

This is DC Alliance’s 2nd year with putt4dough and has helped raise A$49,000 for the PCHF thus far. We are looking forward to working and supporting the event for many years to come. Kudos to Colin Janssen, Simon Whitehead (WAITTA) and all the participants for pulling off this amazing 2020 putt4dough event!
