DC Alliance’s nominates (AASQA) as its beneficiary charity for 2021

DC Alliance’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, DCAres, will forge its first long-term charitable partnership: it has nominated Curtin University’s Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance (AASQA) as its beneficiary charity for 2021.

This comes after DC Alliance’s “Lantern Festival on the Swan” event on 26 February 2021, the fifteenth and last day of the Lunar New Year, where the AASQA was also the beneficiary charity at the event. A total of A$2,000 was raised from DC Alliance as well as its guests that evening for AASQA’s altruistic initiatives.

The AASQA is an Australian social innovation initiative with the vision of harnessing the special talents of people with Autism for the collective benefit of those with Autism, industry and the wider community. AASQA is especially complementary to DC Alliance because it addresses the business needs of the Australian ICT industry facing challenges in attracting and retaining software testers within the sector.

Roy Wong, Chairman of DC Alliance, said: “We are delighted to work with AASQA, which is the ideal CSR partner for us being related to the ICT industry. The money raised at the Lantern Festival on the Swan event is proof that both DC Alliance and its stakeholders believe strongly in doing business meaningfully. We look forward to more collaborations with AASQA.”

Tele Tan, Founder and Director of AASQA as well as the Deputy Head of School – Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Curtin University and a John Curtin Distinguished Professor, added: “I am delighted that DC Alliance has nominated AASQA as the beneficiary of their 2021 charity drive. This donation will help us to better support our initiatives aim at building the capacity of young people on the autism spectrum to succeed in education and employment. So far, close to 300 students have benefited from our program and we aim to increase our reach further with the money we received from these donations. ”
